According to the official website of Micron, Micron announced that it would invest as much as 100 billion dollars to build a leading Megafab memory factory in the middle of New York that could be built and operated sustainably, creating nearly 50000 jobs for New York, including about 9000 high paying Micron jobs.
On October 4 local time, Micron Technology announced on its official website that it planned to build a giant wafer factory in central New York State to promote the production of memory chips.

Meguiar will invest US $20 billion in the first phase of the project to build a giant factory in Clay Town. Site preparation will start in 2023, construction will start in 2024, and mass production will be achieved in 2025. It will gradually increase production from 2026 to 2030 according to industry demand.
The statement pointed out that the factory may eventually contain four 600000 square feet of clean rooms - semiconductor industry production plant, with a total area of 2.4 million square feet, which is close to the size of 40 football fields, making it the largest semiconductor industry in the history of the United States.
Micron disclosed that the New York factory will adopt the most advanced semiconductor manufacturing processes and tools, including extreme ultraviolet (EUV) lithography technology, to consolidate the company's leading position in the DRAM industry.
